For people who are on a limited budget, a Hamilton Beach water dispenser may be the ideal choice. Available in mini and freestanding cabinet models, one of these water coolers can be purchased for less than $100 in USD.

This handy little unit is just the right size for homes, small offices or classrooms. It dispenses both hot and cold water, has easy to use soft touch buttons and a whisper quiet motor. Simple indicator lights on the front of the unit indicate heating, chilling and power.

A childproof safety switch prevents small children from accessing the water to guard against burns and messy spills. The piercing valve is spill resistant; making bottle changes as seamless as possible and the drip tray can be easily removed for cleaning. This Hamilton Beach water cooler is an environmentally friendly product, with no CFCs, and can be purchased for about $50.

Pros:

Compact
Quiet
Dispenses both hot and cold
Child proof safety switch
Environmentally friendly

Cons:

Takes up counter space - needs an appropriate surface
May be too small for large offices
Silicone drain stoppers are difficult to remove

It dispenses both hot and cold water and has a built in storage cabinet with convenient shelving for storing coffee, tea and drink mixes. It is able to cool water at a rate of 5 gallons per hour and heat it at an hourly rate of 1.33 gallons. With a price of about $70, this Hamilton Beach water cooler is much more economical than renting a similar unit from a major water company.

Pros:

Free-standing
Convenient storage cabinet
Easy to change bottles
Supports bottles very well
Child proof hot water tap

Cons:

Pours rather slowly
Taps are recessed too far back and close to the back wall, making it difficult to fill larger containers
Some people have mistaken the storage cabinet for a mini-fridge

How to Plan a Day at the Beach

One of the best days you can have is one at the beach. On a sunny day, the beach is the perfect place to be. Throwing a football or Frisbee, playing volleyball or just enjoying a walk through the waves, there is always something to be enjoyed at the seaside. Perhaps you live in the Midwest and have never been to either of the coasts. If you're planning a trip to Florida or California here's a few things to remember before heading off to the beach.

Sunscreen

If you are fair-skinned be aware of how much of a lifesaver sunscreen can be for you. Tanning via the sun can be dangerous and you want to first take care of your skin. Even if you go on a day when it is overcast, the ultra-violet rays from the sun still break through the clouds, and they are what burn you. In addition, stay hydrated. The sun can really zap your energy quick so you want to be drinking water often. This will prevent headaches and fatigue that can ruin a wonderful day at the beach. In addition, don't forget to wear a hat and sunglasses.

Stake Out Your Site

If you are going as a family remember to bring some things to stake out a plot of sand. An umbrella or lawn chair work best for this and may be rented at some beaches, which you can check out online. Towels are another great way to claim a section on the beach. This is important because it gives you a place that's central to what you will be doing on the beach without having to walk all the way back to your car in order to get a water bottle out of the cooler.

Think Ahead

Think about what you would like to do while there. What kinds of sports or activities would you like to do while at the beach? Be sure to pack the football or volleyball and net if you would like. Some beaches do provide nets for volleyball games, however. For the youngsters, perhaps they would like to fly a kite or have small pales with which to build sand castles. Consider your day before you go and be sure to plan to have fun!

Going to beach can make for a great day. Be sure to plan ahead so that you maximize the fun. It is important to remember sunscreen for yourself and the kids so that you do not come home looking like lobsters. Plan ahead and stake out a section of the beach that looks good to you. Think about where you might get the best view of the ocean or where you can go to avoid the central crowd. Moreover, be sure to take the toys with you that you and the kids will want to have. And take your camera to record a great day at the beach!

Flattering Swimwear for Everyone - Yes, Even YOU!

"There are so many styles of swimwear to choose from, especially if you are a women. With more options than ever, all women regardless of size or shape, can feel stylish wearing swimwear at the pool or on the beach this season."

Summertime is inevitably a season when we all at some time or another bring out the swimwear. Whether it is at the beach, camping or the cottage, the warm weather and tantalizing water encourages a refreshing swim. There are some on the other hand who may not even use their swimwear for the water but who like to sit in the sun's rays and give their skin the glow of summer. Whatever use you have for your bikini or swimwear the wonderful assortment of fabrics, styles and accessories will have you out and about enjoying the fine weather.

There are some of us who don't exactly look forward to this time of year when we have to bring out the swimwear and bikinis in hopes that those couple of extra pounds gained over the year won't have us bulging out of the seams. Not to fret though as swimwear today offers great stretch fabrics for easy mobility and plenty of style options that might just minimize or hide any imperfections.

The fabric, body shape, design and color are all factors when choosing the most flattering swimwear for you. When selecting a swimsuit the quality of fabric is important as you want a suit that will stand up to the seasons of wear, sun and saltwater. Nylon, Lycra and Faille are popular fabrics used for swimsuits, they resist fading and hold their stretchiness. Nylon and Lycra used together offer more stretch then standard swimwear along with shaping, control and comfort for the wearer.

The design of the swimsuit is probably the most important factor when women are out shopping for swimwear and bikinis. You will find plenty of suggestions on flattering suits for all sorts of body types. There are suits to create curves where needed, suits to minimize hips, suits to whittle waistlines, others to add shape to specific areas and then there are the standard all purpose suits that may look great on a variety of shapes. Lines and colors are very important in minimizing or accentuating particular parts of the body. Black and darker colors are often used to minimize, while stripes depending on whether they are vertical or horizontal are used for the same minimizing (vertical) or accentuating (horizontal) effects. There are several special sizes of swimsuits available to accommodate women from petite, tall and plus sizes.

Bikinis alone come in several popular designs that may include; tankinis which are similar to a tank top (with matching bottom, there are different variations of the tankini from short (above the navel) to tops that touch the bottom piece; bandeau tops are designed as a strip usually with no straps; halter tops are just as the name implies similar to a halter with possibly a string that goes around the neck connecting the bodice; lastly there are bra-tops (similar to bra designs) and triangle tops (triangle designs). The bikini that works best will vary from person to person, you want a top that offers support if needed, it is always best to try on a few different tops and see what works best.

Women's swimsuits offer features such as; soft-cup bras which give full support, built-in shelf bras with underwire, sarongs that add gentle shaping to midsection, gentle tummy wraps that accentuates shape, side shirring adding gentle shaping, and overlapping tops with bottoms for gentle coverage. There are also swimsuits available in swim dress designs which offer additional coverage of hips if needed for some, and bandeau style one pieces with no straps.

Women really are at an advantage when it comes to selecting swimwear designs, as the number of women's designs far exceeds the number of men's designs.

Women's swimsuits come in one-piece designs, swim dress designs, sarong swimsuits, tankini suits and several bikini designs. Whereas men's suits are available mostly in the standard racing style, swim trunk and swim short designs.

The list of swimwear accessories is as great as the swimsuits to be had. The accessories are an important part of your beach or lake excursion, and can include; straw hats, crochet hats, sun hats, short chemises, pareo (cover up skirt), cover ups, capri's, thongs, sunglasses, tote bags, mesh bags and most importantly beach towels.

Children's swimwear offers some excellent options for those little one's just learning to swim. There are great thermal wear suits available, which keep children nice and warm, the innovative suits are made from a specially treated heat reflective neoprene material. Thermal wear suits and special sun protective swimwear also offer UV protection from the sun. There are special water shoes for children that protect their small feet and help to prevent slips. Then of course there is the wide variety of designs and fabrics available to choose from. Designs for girls come in one and two piece while the boys' suits most often come in the short and trunk designs.

Other considerations to keep the children busy at the beach or lake are lifejackets, arm floats, flotation devices, goggles and beach toys. There are great swim vests and special swimming tubes specially made for children to gradually ease into swimming. The list of pool toys is endless with floating basketball nets, dive toys, swimming fins and volleyball games to name a few.

The sun protection clothing and sun protective swimwear that is being manufactured is innovative and an excellent choice especially for children. Some of the sun protective clothing and swimwear claims to block 98 per cent of UV rays with a UPF of 50 plus. What this means is that only one fiftieth of UV radiation falling on the surface of the garment will pass through. Wearing this clothing is added protection against the suns harmful rays.

When going to the beach, pool or when participating in any outdoor activity it is important to wear a sunscreen of at least thirty. Nothing spoils a day in the sun like the pain of sunburn. That is why being prepared for your outing is important, bring along the necessary hats, sunglasses and cover-ups to ensure both comfort and protection. This is true especially for children, it's probably best to avoid mid afternoon intense sun if possible. However if you cannot avoid being in the sun, be sure to bring along a beach umbrella to provide shade and again hats and sunscreens for children are absolutely necessary.

With so many wonderful swimwear options to choose from your beach, pool, lake or camping experience can be both pleasurable and fashionable. Take the time and find a swimsuit that you feel comfortable in and one that compliments your particular figure. With the right swimwear choices you will be ready for all your travel and vacation needs with a suit that lasts for a few seasons.

Getting The Right Cheerleading Uniforms

Getting the right cheerleading uniforms may just be one of the most important things that you do for your team. In fact the cheerleading uniforms are just as important as the teams uniforms because the cheerleaders are representing the school as well. It does not matter if the cheerleading uniforms are for a high school team or for a college team, they need to look good and they need to match.

There is nothing worse than cheerleading uniforms that don't match. Each and every member of the cheerleading squad has to have the same uniform on. There is only one small difference permitted and that is when there are both girls and boys on the team. In that case the colors and the style should be the same except for the fact that the girls will have a skirt and the boys will have on pants. That is the only difference that there should ever be when it comes to any cheerleading uniforms. If you take a look at the professional cheerleading uniforms and the cheerleading uniforms of other schools that is all the difference you will see.

There is a good reason for that as well. A cheerleading squad needs to be seen as a whole. Each individual should be considered just another piece of the over all puzzle, a limb if you will. If they did not dress the same and match then they would lose that uniform look and that would hurt the overall presence that they have. Their routines would not flow the same either. You see, cheerleading uniforms are there for a reason and that is to add to the routines and the entire feel of the show.

Cheerleading uniforms can be in any color, they are generally in the color of the school that they represent. IF they do not represent a school and they represent a pro team then the colors of the cheerleading uniforms are those colors. The colors are not as important as the styles. The cheerleading uniforms should be sexy and cute but never to over the top, they need to look good. Some of the cheerleading uniforms will have sequins on them while others will not, that all depends on the place the cheerleaders are from. There are all kinds of different cheerleading uniforms and they all have their own unique styles.

Most teams have their cheerleading uniforms specially made in order to stand out from the rest of the teams. They do not want to look like all the rest, they need to be unique and attractive in their own right. Some get their cheerleading uniforms online and then have them altered at a local tailor, it does not matter which way you choose to get your cheerleading uniforms as long as you have them in time for the game or match!

The History of the Circus

For thousands of years in many cultures circus has entertained people. It has endured since Roman times where circuses featured gladiators fighting to their death, chariot races, animal duels, and horse trick riding. Through the dark ages it endured in the form of troubadours and street performers. Finally, in the late 1700s, circus took a shape similar to the circuses of today.

In 1768 Sergeant Major Philip Astley returned to his home town of London, England, and started a horse riding school. He had just come back from serving in the British military as a cavalry man. To promote his horse riding school he created shows showcasing his skill on a horse.

As Philip Astley's shows became more and more popular, he decided to add further entertainment. He added musicians, clowns, jugglers, tightrope walkers, and dancing dogs, which were already popular entertainment at fairs and festivals of the time. When his circus became more popular than his riding school, he opened another. And another. And another. Before Philip Astley died in 1814, he would open 19 circuses. Mr.Astley is now known as the father of modern circus.

After Sergeant Major Philip Astley opened his second circus, the inevitable competition emerged. They opened rival circuses all over Europe and eventually all over the world. But there was one problem. With the small size of towns in the 18th century, if a circus was around long enough, sooner or later everyone in a town would have seen it. But being as innovative as they were, circus owners solved that problem easily. They began to travel. In order to do this efficiently, the circus tent was invented. It was great because of how quickly and easily it could be set up and taken down.

By the mid 1800s, circus was in its golden age. Going to the circus was as popular as going to a movie theater is now. Soon entrepreneurs and businessmen joined the craze. They added human freaks and exotic animals in different tents that could only be entered at extra cost. And people did enter. Everyone involved circus was raking in money.

But all great things must come to an end. By the mid 1900s, circus was getting less and less popular due to the invention of the radio and television. People no longer needed to leave the comfort of their home for entertainment. So, circus declined in popularity until it settled at where it is today. Don't get me wrong, circus is still popular, just not nearly as popular as it was 100-200 years ago.

Is the end near for circus? I think not! Circus has survived for thousands of years, and I see no reason for it not to survive for thousands of years to come.

Beach Camping - The Great De-Stressor

Beaches have been one of the most favorite picnic spots to one and all for ages. The liking for beaches goes beyond any factors such as caste, creed and social status. Beaches have always been a favorite theme to creatively beautify expressions that a man most commonly uses in his poems, paintings, photography and music. Many beautiful things related to beaches such as sunrise and sunset are all inexplicable.

Beach camping is a wonderful and an affordable way to enjoy the weekends or holidays. Some of the ways to enjoy beach camping are going on long boardwalks with your loved ones, fishing, playing volleyball and adventurous sports such as swimming, wind surfing, sailing, water skiing, jet skiing, and boating.

Needless to say, before going for a beach camp, it's essential to equip oneself suitably. Make sure you make a list of the most commonly needed items. Some things that you need too carry are tents and sleeping bags for the nights. Drinking water is a must and so is food. Add camp stoves, charcoal chimney, essential utensils, cooler and a water filter. Pack proper clothing. Remember to take little things like can opener, bug spray, candles and cleaning items. Binoculars are a must. Take camera, a compass, GPS, flashlight, and kites. Of course, you will not forget your cell phone. Add to your baggage a pen and a few writing papers.

There is yet another list to manage. Pack up some more items such as sunburn lotion, beach chairs and other foldable aluminum furniture, tables, and shade tents. You will need beachwear, canopies, and beach bags to make your beach camping more fun.

If accompanied by kids, accidents are more likely to happen. All beach camp sites do have coast guard services who can give you emergency medical assistance. Yet, it is advisable that you carry a well-stocked first aid kit with you.

Irrespective of whether it's a ready-made medical kit or a kit prepared spontaneously for the occasion, care should be taken to include some mandatory items such as personal medication, medical tape, bandages, elastic wrap, scissors, tweezers, sterile gauze, antibiotics, antiseptic creams, anti-burn ointment, hydrogen peroxide, eye wash and sanitary napkins.

Beach camping backed by right planning and sufficient equipments would be an extremely fascinating, enchanting and a memorable experience.

Take a Retreat to Rehoboth Beach

Summer has spread its languid glaze over the surface of the land. As you trudge to work, as you run your errands, and as you sigh at the thought of another day just like this one, you realize that you could really use a break. A proper vacation to the beach, perhaps in a spot that's off the radar but not lifeless, quiet but not dull. Rehoboth Beach, with its unassuming charm and year-round activities, might be the right place to shed your responsibilities and embrace a simpler way of life for a few days.

The largest of Delaware's Atlantic resorts, Rehoboth Beach has all that you might expect to find in a historic beach town. A mile-long boardwalk, plenty of ocean-themed activities that include surf fishing, swimming, sailing, and paragliding, and a cozy Main Street filled with shops, restaurants and art galleries. Whether you've been here before or not, you'll find yourself intuitively navigating the streets as you fall into step with your fellow blessed beach visitors.

Spend a day lounging near the sea, taking a dip when it gets too hot or grabbing a cool drink when thirst strikes you. Enroll in a crabbing lesson if that sounds like fun, or just people-watch as you take a stroll down the boardwalk. This same area comes alive at night as well as during the day, when a number of casual sports tempt vacationers who have energy to burn. Volleyball, basketball, soccer, and whiffleball can all be watched or engaged in along the sandy strip, so bring your competitive edge.

Other essential summer activities can be found near Rehoboth Beach, activities that will complete your carefree experience and perhaps bring you back to your younger days. Miniature golf, horseback riding, go-cart tracks and waterslides are a few of the diversions you'll want to consider as you explore the area. There are several "real" golf courses too, many of them award-winning, but don't be ashamed if you stick to the putt-putt zones.

To get your arts fix, Rehoboth Beach has an array of options that will get your creative juices flowing. The Pop Rocks Art Gallery features the work of several local and nationally recognized pop artists, so be sure to visit if you have a taste for funky and fun-loving visual expression.

If you're more of a movie buff, then check into the events of the Rehoboth Beach Film Society. Every November they host an Independent Film Festival that features workshops, seminars, and film debuts. If you're interested in their summertime features, however, then keep your eyes open for the goings on at the Art House Theatre and the Cinema by the Surf series, which shows films at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand.

The Bandstand is a cornerstone of the Rehoboth Beach entertainment scene, as it is the site of music performances, comedic acts, and various other crowd-pleasing events. The spirit of the Bandstand has been around for decades, but the fact that the venue has been recently remodeled ensures that the tradition will continue.

If this seems like a place that will adequately, if not expertly, chase away the drone and duty of the dog days of summer, then start packing your bags for the rest and respite that you need. Be aware that Rehoboth Beach has a number of unique vacation rentals that could boost your trip from good to great, so before you go the standard route of booking a hotel room make sure to check out every option available.

Many cottages and condos are right on the beach, and even the ones that aren't are just a few blocks away. The amenities that you'll find in most properties will make you feel at home, and the prices are often quite reasonable. If you've ever been disappointed in your lodging situation while on vacation, it would be smart to go online to peruse the Rehoboth Beach Vacation Rentals that are available. Make this trip as rewarding as possible by being open to all possibilities, and don't be surprised if you soon find yourself enjoying a highly refreshing week in the midst of an otherwise draining summer.

A Beginner's Guide to Beach Volleyball

Going to the beach isn't all about chilling out and picking up a tan; it's about having a great time too! Beach volleyball is cheap, fun and easy to set up; all you need is a volleyball (or any similar sized ball), a net, and some willing participants.

Developing at a similar time to modern surfing, beach volleyball shares the casual, relaxed attitude of surfing. Being played on sand, there is no such thing as correct or recommended attire; the vast majority of players play in whatever is comfortable for them. Most players, even at a professional level, play barefoot. Anyone can play beach volleyball; it is easy on the limbs and an excellent way to keep active and make new friends while on the beach. Any quality sports shop will stock a decent volleyball and net for a reasonable price.

The rules are very similar to those of indoor volleyball. The official court measurements for beach volleyball are 8 metres by 16 metres, although this can be easily adjusted to suit your level of play. The net should be roughly 2 to 2.5 metres off the ground. Typically, a team consists of 2 players on each side of the net. To score a point, a team must manage to either ground the ball in the opponents' court, or the opposing team must commit a fault. A fault generally consists of failing to return the ball into court across the net; either by hitting the net, or sending the ball outside of the boundaries of play. Teams are allowed to contact the ball a maximum of 3 times, with no one player allowed to touch the ball on consecutive occasions. One player from each team begins each point by serving the ball into the opposition's court area.

Matches generally consist of a best out of 3 set format; that is, the first team to win 2 sets is the victor. To win a set, one team must reach 21 points, with a minimum 2 point advantage over the opposition.

When playing for the first time, certain terminology may confuse you. In particular, a 'dig' is a shot performed when you scoop the ball upwards when the ball is low. Another common shot is known as the 'spike'; the action of hitting the ball forcefully downwards into the opponent's area. There are a few others, but you will pick them up quickly the more you play.

Of course, it is not imperative to follow all these rules to the letter of the law. It is far more important to have fun; if the net is a little too low, or you happen to be playing with a football, it doesn't matter; just enjoy yourself! Beach volleyball is a relaxed, enjoyable sport when played in the right spirit. Go hard, keep it light hearted and try to make friends with your opponents.

Beach volleyball is fantastic fun and is easily accessible to all, being one of the best ways in which to remain active whilst on the beach. Next time you head to the beach, set up a game with your friends and see how many people join you!

How to Train For Boxing

Boxing is a sport that demands toughness, both mental and physical. If one is not willing to put forth the required effort, it is not likely that they will excel at this sport. The training is rigorous and one must be completely committed in order to achieve success.

Some of the physical requirements to be proficient at boxing are good hand to eye coordination, strength and skill, good foot and hand speed and agility. Mental requirements include, extreme willpower, a dedication to regular workouts, the ability to keep emotions under control and a great deal of stamina.

Running is a necessary facet of training for boxing and not just flat ground running. Climbing hills helps to build the essential endurance and tone up leg muscles. Sprints are excellent for building stamina and developing speed.

Upper body strength is of the utmost importance for boxers and the use of both free and fixed weights can be an excellent way to achieve and maintain such strength. An exercise ball is helpful in developing a strong core which is essential for boxing.

Plyometric exercises are highly recommended for those who train to box. These are exercises that can enable a muscle to reach its' maximum force in the shortest amount of time and it is obvious why these exercises would be so beneficial for someone who hoped to be a successful boxer. Because boxing is so physically intense, it gets the heart rate beating at very high levels so ones' body must be able to tolerate that exertion.

Push-ups are great because they work to strengthen arms, shoulders, chest, the back and the core. Most boxers incorporate jumping rope into their exercise routines because it helps to improve footwork and coordination both of which are vital components of a successful boxer.

One can set up their own routine and train very effectively or they can work with a professional trainer who will strive to get the very most out of each workout. Keep in mind however, that no matter how good or popular your trainer is, the results you achieve are up to you and how much effort you are willing to give.

Mom Online Community - Avenue For Parental Advice

If you are a digital age mom, online community is probably a big part of your life. It's becoming more and more popular to be part of a wide network of moms from all over the country or even all over the globe! Some of my closest friends are moms I have met online, and the ability to connect with someone over the common ground of children and parenthood is a terrific thing.

A mom online community is a little more organized than just chit chatting with another mom. It can be a wide spread organization with thousands of moms, or a community group with a couple dozen members. They are gathered together to offer support and advice on parenting, coping, and everything else. One thing I really appreciate as a mom; online community news alerts. I belong to a group that sends out an email when one of us finds a particularly good deal on something, like a whopping sale on diapers or a store that is discontinuing a line of snacks. It also works as a support line - if a mom is in trouble we can rally together and help her through the tough time.

A cool feature I haven't used yet but intend to is baby-sitter swap - there is a calendar posted online, so you can post when you are available for babysitting and then request a babysitter for your own night out. You might take care of Nancy's kids on Saturday, she could sit with Barb's on Wednesday and Barb hosts the sleepover to pay it back to you on Friday. I hear that it is rare that someone can't step up and sit if one of the moms is in need. Carpooling is a plus, too. I met two other moms from the same school district whose daughters are in the same after school volleyball practice every Friday, and now we only have to drive the extra trip and sit through practice with our toddlers one week out of three. It's evolved into a regular sleepover at the driver's house each week, which works out great since then it's the weekend.

If you are a mom, online community support might be just what you need. The friends I have made I know I will have for years to come, and we truly have become a community that shares and cares!

Best Price adidas Elite Medium Duffle

adidas Elite Medium Duffle Review

This bag is spacious and designed nicely (I like the compartments, and it really is amazing how much this thing fits). However, I found this bag pretty cumbersome to lug around. I took it with me to Turkey and Israel, where I discovered that it is hard to carry for more than 20 minutes(probably because it was too big for me. I'm not very tall or built). Also, the strap doesn't stay flat and wide. It tends to curl into this tight rope, so that the weight of the bag is concentrated into one little strip going across your shoulder. I think that if this strap would only stay flat, this bag would have been a breeze to carry around during traveling. Anyway, as a gym bag, it is fantastic.

The Flavour of Miami

When one thinks of Miami one usually thinks of beaches, tanned bodies and all night parties with an endless supply of exotic umbrella drinks. Miami is that and so much more. Owing to its ties to North, South and Central America, as well as its close link to the Caribbean it is considered the central hub of America. As a result, it is often referred to as the "Gateway of the Americas". Owing to its strong relationship with Central America, especially economically, it has a large Spanish-speaking contingent, so most Florida natives are bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. It also has the distinction of being the only major American city that was founded by a woman, Julia Tuttle.

Miami's climate is tropical, characterised by hot and humid summers, and warm dry winters. There are occasional cold fronts between November and March but the temperature has never gone below 17 degrees Celsius. In summer the temperature can rise to 36 degrees Celsius, but it's the humidity that gets really bad and settles on you like a towel that's been soaked in boiling water, and makes it difficult to breathe, as if you're breathing through hot sand. Another disadvantage of the tropical climate is the hurricane season, which occurs every year at roughly the same time as the wet season.

Shopping is one of Miami's traditional, ritual pastimes, along with eating out and spending all night dancing to the rhythm of your heart. One of the most cosmopolitan places to experience all of these is Coconut Grove in Miami's Village. Coconut Grove is situated along the waters of Biscayne Bay and is one of Miami's oldest settlements. It has managed to hold onto its quaint old world, bohemian feel, even though it has become one of the trendiest places in Miami.

It's filled to the brim with shops, restaurants, nightclubs and art galleries. It is home to the Coconut Grove Playhouse, an historic South Florida landmark and acclaimed live theatre since 1956. It also hosts the Coconut Grove Art Festival, an outdoor festival where visitors can interact with artists; enjoy live entertainment and where children are given the opportunity to create their own works of art. Other events include The King Mango Strut, which is a satirical parade of local public figures in a light hearted and fun manner, and The Commodore Block Party.

Nightclubs are probably Miami's biggest draw card and have tourists flocking to the city in their thousands, at least as far as the single scene is concerned. Nightclub owners work hard to ensure that their clubs stay on the hot and trendy list, while new clubs open all the time, anxious to break into the coveted hot market. As a result, new concepts and exciting ideas are born every season and club owners have to adapt or die. Some of the more popular clubs and bars include:

Mansion
Voted one of the hottest nightclubs by People Magazine, it has hosted some of the year's biggest bashes, such as The MTV Video Music Awards Island Def Jam after party and Velvet Revolver's Miami performance. It is made up of several floors connected by sweeping staircases; other features include ornate fireplaces and keystone arches, where the emphasis is on luxurious decadence. The club can accommodate 2500 people, has a private room for groups, and has cover charge and valet parking.

Opium Garden/Prive
This nightclub epitomises Miami nightlife. It's a two-level dance club that successfully combines energetic, throbbing late-night/early-morning dancing with peaceful Asian décor. Its adorned with golden Buddhas, Chinese lanterns and palms trees, and yet has a sound system that you can feel in your bones long after you have left the club. Prive is Opium Garden's VIP section and has its own entrance; you have to be on the A-list to get in. The total capacity is 2500 people and there is a separate room for groups. There is a cover charge and valet parking.

M-Bar
This bar is situated in a prime position for patrons to enjoy exquisite views of the Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay. It has a large menu of 250 martinis, which is divided into categories including sweet, tangy, naughty but nice and oddballs. The capacity is rather small with the bar only able to accommodate 30 people, but there is a Happy Hour.

PlayBar39
During the week this bar functions as a wine bar and lounge, where locals and tourists alike can be found deep in conversation. On Sunday afternoons it presents a weekly drag show. The total capacity is 20, but for groups its 150 as they are accommodated in the poolside and lobby spill over areas. Other features include Happy Hour and food service.

Beaches are the other great draw card for Miami. They are pristine, with white sand and beautiful warm water. The sun almost always shines, so every day is a good day for the beach. Bikini babes and bronzed Adonis-like men strut their stuff in every direction. One could almost get tired of looking, almost. Some of the more spectacular beaches include:

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Beach
This gorgeous beach can be found at the southern tip of Key Biscayne and has scenic walking and biking trails that wind through native vegetation. There is also an historic lighthouse to see. Features include: Food and drink concession stands, picnic tables and barbeque grills, restrooms and shower facilities, fishing, lifeguards and beach patrol, as well as shelters. Parking has to be paid for.

Crandon Park Beach
This lagoon style beach is three miles long and is protected by 13 lifeguard towers. It is an ideal spot for families as it has a children's carrousel and playgrounds, it also has beach wheelchairs available for rent. Other features include: Picnic tables and barbeque grills, shelters, beach chairs, umbrellas and water sports rentals, showers and restroom facilities, volleyball, lifeguards and beach patrol. Parking has to be paid for.

Hobie Beach/Windsurfer Beach
This beach is situated on a secluded inlet where there is a good view of the Downtown Miami skyline. Dogs are allowed and there is beachside parking available. Features include: water sports rentals, walking and bike trails, food and drink concession stands and fishing.

Other popular beaches include Haulover Beach, which has a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, a kite flying area and kite shop as well as a clothing optional section at its northern end. Oleta River State Beach, which is popular for its boating and kayaking and sleep over cabins. Virginia Key Beach - South, which is the only beach in Miami -Dade County to allow dogs on leashes, it also has a bird sanctuary nearby and nature trails for walking.

Miami is a city that has something for everyone. You may have the impression from television shows and movies that it is rife with drugs, murder and sex. But it is a city with great pride in its cultural background. It has nearly as many art galleries as nightclubs, as well as the infrastructure to support its local artists. Theatre productions are well supported for the duration of each season and there is nothing that Miami citizens love more than a festival. It is also a family orientated city, all you need to do is look past the propaganda and media hype. Heat and humidity aside, Miami is an ideal holiday destination, like New Orleans, a place that everybody should experience in their lifetime.

The Wonders of Steam Cleaning Machines

The vapor steam that comes from steam cleaning machines offers a faster and more effective means of cleaning. Compared to rigid scrubbing and use of cleaning or disinfecting chemicals, the dry steam that is produced by the machine effectively penetrates the pores of surfaces, which loosens dirt at an amazingly faster rate. Since steam is a natural sanitizer, the use of steam vapor cleaning machines does not leave any residual that commercial cleaning fluids usually do. Hence, steam cleaners clean and sanitize better than other chemicals that you find in the supermarket.

With less than a gallon of water for an hour's worth of continuous cleaning, a steam cleaning machine can sanitize and clean almost every fabric, area or surface that is found in your home. The secret lies in its special broiler, which operates at an average of 50 to 60 psi. The pressure in operation varies on the cleaning settings. The broiler quickly heats up the water, which is then discharged as dry steam. The steam produced is actually contains 5 % to 6% water, leaving little moist residue on the surface or fabric being cleaned. For safety in usage, some steam cleaning machines have a heat sensitive safety cap that does not allow refilling of water until the machine cools down. However, better grade of steam cleaners are designed to allow continuous refilling of water without allowing the system to cool down in between refills.

A steam cleaning machine looks like a typical vacuum cleaner. However, it works very differently. Although there are some interests to incorporate vacuum machine operations in a steam vapor cleaning machine, steam cleaners are very much different from your typical vacuum cleaner. A vacuum cleaner uses a technology to loosen dirt and fibers and pull them into a dust bag; while a steam cleaner uses steam to manage dirt.

The machine is designed to produce low moisture vapor to loosen dirt. This way, the loose dirt and carpet fibers are made to rise on the surface and are then absorbed by a towel that is fixed onto an attachment. Since the machine uses 240 to 260 degrees Fahrenheit of dry steam, it leaves almost no damp, leaving no possibility for mold spores to proliferate since the heat of the vapor steam allows the steam to evaporate and dry up quickly.

The use of a steam cleaner does not require any chemical to do thorough cleaning. All it needs it tap water, making it an ideal cleaning option for allergy sufferers. Hence, it is the most ecologically-friendly and most effective cleaning system that is available in the market today.

There are a number of special applications that can be done by a steam cleaning machine. As a multi-purpose cleaner, it comes with an array of special tools that will help solve major cleaning headaches. To keep dust mites at bay, a quick vapor steam on your bed or beddings, upholstery and carpet can instantly kill dust mites, fleas and other forms of parasites that normally promote allergies and proliferation of mold and fungi. The machine is also ideal for eliminating the molds in the bathroom, basement, window encasements and other damp areas in the home.

Steam cleaning clothes helps get rid of wrinkles while leaving the fabric smelling like freshly pressed. Also, the machine is perfect for cleaning the areas where house pets hang out. It can easily and quickly sanitize soiled carpets and beds to litter boxes. Hence, the machine finds a solution in managing every grime and dirt in your home.

A steam cleaning machine is a versatile cleaning machine; however, it does not clean everything. There are certain things that you need to avoid when using steam cleaners. Since it uses dry steam and heat when cleaning, it should not be used on heat sensitive materials such as silks in clothing or Persian rug, velor and the exterior paint or polish of your car. The machine also finds difficulties in handling vinyl surfaces.

The good news is that steam vapor cleaning machines are commercially available. To choose the right steam cleaning machine, you must take note of the machine's tank capacity and control features. For home use, such machines come in lightweight and more compact versions. Some are particularly designed for cleaning kitchen or bathroom areas, whereas others are designed for handling upholstery and fabric cleaning and yet others focus on controlling the growth of molds and grime on commonly damp areas in the home. You just need to know what kind of cleaning you require to end up with the right machine that will help you manage any cleaning problems.

Couples Only All Inclusive Resorts:

All inclusive resorts are the latest buzz in the tourism circle. Being able to spend a vacation on a resort would be like a dream come true. You needn't think about anything else and just lie on the beach, under the sun and enjoy your time there. However, this is not possible in the usual way since you need to consider a lot of things. Most of these relate to the cost of what you spend on the resort. Small things like your drinks, food etc., and access to facilities that would make a vacation worthwhile. All inclusive resorts charge a flat fee for all the possible expenses that you might incur during your stay including room rentals, meals, use of the spa and gym and taxes.

Couples only all-inclusive resorts are perfect romantic getaways. These resorts provide couples with the privacy and comfort they are looking for, away from work. The resorts include luxurious rooms, fine restaurants, spas and private pools. The main idea is to provide couples a relaxing and refreshing time by providing every mode of comfort and the much-needed isolation to enjoy their intimate moments. The "all inclusive" package takes care of most of the paper work before hand. All arrangements are made before the holiday, thus taking away the unnecessary hassles one would generally face otherwise.

These resorts give the opportunity for couples to relax, unwind and pamper themselves. There are numerous options to choose from. One could go to lush green mountains or white sandy beaches to have the perfect holiday. The resorts also provide various recreational facilities. The couples can go on a mountain trek, scuba diving or forage through a tropical forest. Sports like pool, beach volleyball, and golf are also available. The most popular destination is usually the Caribbean. There are resorts in Europe and Asia, which are also often visited by couples to get the exotic feel.

The various options one can choose from are hillside suites, beach houses, tropical cottages or even villas if money is not a problem. The resorts have gourmet restaurants, which provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. The couple can have the privilege of having their meals in their rooms. Most resorts provide massage parlors, sauna and private pools apart from other facilities. There are many hotel groups like the Sandal resorts, Hilton and Marriott which one can choose from. All one has to do is log onto the internet and select from resort review sites. But before selecting the resorts, one has to be sure of their budget and the destination. Once the formalities are taken care of the couple can go ahead and have a wonderful time uninterrupted.

A Guide to the Beaches of California

If anything, California is known for its beaches. Sun, sand, and surf are the orders of the day for many Californians, along with the perks of trendy bikinis, even suntans, and socializing in a relaxed atmosphere.

Out in Southern California, we have the ever-popular beaches of Malibu, Los Angeles, OC (made insanely popular by the hit TV show), Santa Barbara, and San Diego. The beaches in Santa Cruz deserve a special mention from Central California, while Northern California's claim to beach fame comes from the three counties of Humboldt, Mendocino, and Marin.

Venice Beach in Los Angeles is often touted as a popular favorite, where you have more than just surf and sand. Locals and tourists gather to watch street performers, artists, and, of course, beautiful women (and men for the ladies), which forms part of the action. The sidewalk that runs through the beach stretches all the way out to Santa Monica.

If skating or biking is your thing, hit the Alamitos Beach, which offers a 3.1 mile pedestrian bike path. Those with kids may want to stick with a safer beach like Marine Beach, where the waters are quite shallow and lifeguards are always nearby during peak seasons. The volleyball court and grassy areas make it the ideal picnic spot for families.

Surfers will want to head out to Malibu Surfrider Beach. The Malibu Pier in the area makes an ideal spot for saltwater fishing or birdwatching (real birds for avian lovers). Guided tours for everything from the monarch butterfly to the gray whale are available at certain seasons.

Snorkelers should take a look at La Jolla Cove Beach. Gear rentals are available nearby and the waters are safe for children and beginners. There's also plenty of sealife to be seen here.

But if sheer beauty is what you're after, definitely take a trip down to Laguna Beach and have your pick of several gorgeous beaches, many of which have added attractions such as surfing, picnicking, volleyball, snorkeling, and even tide pools. For a more laid back atmosphere, visit Ocean Beach in San Diego, and bring your dog for a walk as well.

The lineup of beaches in California is endless. Everything from activity-heavy beaches, to incredible views, to specialty beaches for dogs to roam free without leashes (Dog Beach-San Diego) and nudists (Black's Beach-San Diego) is available for every kind of preference.
